Composition

Calcitriol 0.25 mcg + Calcium Carbonate 625 mg + Vitamin K2-7 45 mcg.

This is a calcium and vitamin D supplement with vitamin K2, commonly used when additional support for calcium absorption and bone health is needed.

- Calcitriol — the active form of vitamin D; increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate.
- Calcium carbonate — provides elemental calcium for bones, teeth, muscles, and nerves.
- Vitamin K2-7 (menaquinone-7) — contributes to normal bone metabolism.

Uses

It may be prescribed for:

- Calcium or vitamin D deficiency
- Osteoporosis and reduced bone density
- Conditions associated with impaired calcium absorption or metabolism
- Supporting bone health when prescribed with other treatments

Calcitriol is also used in certain kidney-related disorders of calcium and bone metabolism.

How to Use

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Calcium carbonate is generally better absorbed with food.

Swallow the tablet with water. Do not take additional calcium or vitamin D supplements unless your doctor recommends them, because calcitriol can significantly increase calcium absorption.

Keep calcium supplements separated from medicines such as levothyroxine, iron, and certain antibiotics, as calcium can reduce their absorption.

Precautions & Warnings

Tell your doctor if you have:

- Kidney disease or kidney stones
- High blood calcium or high urinary calcium
- Parathyroid disorders
- Heart rhythm problems
- A history of abnormal calcium levels
- Liver or other metabolic disorders

Too much calcitriol/calcium can cause hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium). Your doctor may monitor blood calcium, phosphate, kidney function, and sometimes urinary calcium.

Vitamin K2 can interfere with warfarin and other vitamin-K-sensitive anticoagulant therapy. Inform your doctor if you take blood thinners.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects include constipation, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and headache.

Excess calcium/calcitriol can cause:

- Excessive thirst
- Frequent urination
- Nausea or vomiting
- Weakness or fatigue
- Confusion
- Kidney stones
- Abnormal heart rhythm

Seek medical attention if these symptoms are significant or persistent.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, use this combination only under medical supervision. Excessive calcitriol and calcium can cause abnormal calcium levels.

Storage

Store at room temperature in a dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.

Important Safety Information

Because calcitriol is an active vitamin-D hormone, this product should not be treated like an ordinary calcium supplement. Avoid taking other vitamin-D or calcium products simultaneously unless prescribed, and follow any recommended blood-test monitoring.
